Phi Long recounts the story from the Chinese colonial period in Hoi An, Vietnam. In this work, Phi Long references Hoi An’s specialty, white rose dumplings (in Vietnamese, bánh hoa hồng trắng). He shaped the flour dough and saffron into a ball used in the game Ném Lia Thia.
The dough served as the material for the game. The ball is then thrown into the Thu Bon River, where it skips before melting in the water, becoming food for the fish. The game was documented and photographed.
